Under 13 North Munster Cup

Richmond – 32 Newcastle West -7

On a chilly Sunday morning, our under 13’s played host to Richmond. It ended up being a disappointing day for us as Richmond ran away with the game early. A lethargic start led to a 20-0 half time for Richmond. But in the second half we improved significantly. A mistake from Richmond was pounced upon by Aaron Heffernan who kicked ahead a couple of times and fell on the ball by get us on the scoreboard. He then converted his try with a brilliant conversion from the right touchline to leave the full time score 32-7. Man of the Match for Newcastle West was Mike Cremin, while Jodie Woulfe and Aaron Heffernan also played well.

Team: Andrew Mortell, Daniel Donovan, Darragh Lyons, Jodie Woulfe, Killian Rothwell, Aaron Heffernan, Kevin O’Connell, David Walsh, Sam Berkery, Oisin O’Sullivan, Bobby Donovan, Chris O’Riordan, Cormac Lyons, Oliver Flanagan, Mike Cremin.

FamilyFunDaySaturday25thOctoberfrom1pm

Saturday October 25th is a massive day for Newcastle West RFC. We make our debut in the prestigious All Ireland Junior Cup by hosting OLBC RFC from Galway in Cullinagh. (2.30pm Kick off)

To celebrate this, from 1pm, we will be having a family fun day in the Cullinagh grounds for all our supporters, from mini to those a little bit older. There will be a BBQ hosted by our U15 squad to feed the hungry masses and plenty of fun activities like face painting, bouncy castles, and more soft drinks and sweets than any self-respecting sweet tooth can handle! Along with all of this our youth section of the club will be presenting the awards from the 2013/14 season to grades U13 to U16.

Added to the game this promises to be a great day for Newcastle West RFC and its future stars and supporters. Kick off the bank holiday in style and join in the celebrations. You never know who might turn up! We want to fill Cullinagh to capacity so please share with all your friends. See you all there on the 25th.
